In November 2007, Mark took part in a marathon run on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Several other family members also participated in the event, for the purpose of raising funds for choroideremia research. Dixie and I and Andy and Joan and their family (also some other family members and friends of Debbie and Mark) went along to help support the event. Most of us stayed in a large beach house that Mark and Debbie had rented.
