In August 2010, some time after Dixie’s hip replacement surgery, Karen and Elaine and I drove to Vancouver where we met up with Dixie and Joan, who had flown there, and made our way to a rented cabin on Half Moon Bay on BC’s Sunshine Coast. We watched the waves, walked the beach and a trail nearby, and toured around the area, including a trip up the coast in a small tour boat.
